An entry in Fauci's diary is crucial evidence that SARS-CoV-2 is a PLA bioweapon
Thanks to Senator Rand Paul’s dogged pursuit of Fauci we’ve been learning much about his narcissism, greed, arrogance, callousness and disingenuity but surprisingly little about the origin of Covid. Until now.
There’s one entry in his recently released diary which is a big deal if confirmed - perhaps the smoking gun that SARS-CoV-2 is a PLA bioweapon. While a previous unclassified ODNI report suggested that WIV had access to pangolins in 2019 and were trying to isolate viruses from them, this was unsourced and vague. The entry below from Fauci’s diary subpoenaed by Senator Paul is extraordinary, as he is documenting what was told to him in a secret briefing in a SCIF. Recording it is possibly illegal, but his open-ended pardon ought to cover that.
Fauci rejects the significance of the intelligence, but it is crucial. The transfer of pangolin viruses from a group in Beijing to Wuhan almost certainly means the AMMS is doing the transferring, and not necessarily to civilian scientists from WIV. Their own military scientists were working out of the Wuhan BSL-4 facility - but why? Coronaviruses - even SARS and MERS - don’t generally require such a high biosafety level.
Another bizarre aspect of this SCIF briefing is the presence and reaction of Beth Cameron.
Beth Cameron previously held senior WMD related roles in the Obama administration.
In 2017 she became VP for Global Biological Policy at a think tank, the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI). In December, 2019 she organized a table-top exercise similar to “Event 201” except that in this scenario the outbreak resulted from state-sponsored bioweapons research. The eventual outcome - 2 billion infected resulting in 50 million deaths - is not dissimilar to Covid-19.
Another alumnus from the Obama administration, Avril Haines, was a participant, as she was at Event 201.
I don’t mean to suggest they were rehearsing for something they knew was imminent, but that it’s odd that later, when briefed on intelligence suggesting SARS-CoV-2 was a state-sponsored bioweapon, both Haines and Cameron gave little consideration to the possibility. The ODNI report, for which Haines is responsible, dismisses it on the basis of distrust of certain “proponents” - making no attempt to assess it independently.
An earlier draft had a little more information on military use of the lab but was plain wrong on the lack of plausible progenitors. This is a reflection of scientific ignorance and an alarming lack of professionalism in intelligence matters.
An earlier diary entry (June 15, 2020) shows Fauci had been alerted to “a Chinese group” who had developed a novel transgenic hACE2 mouse model. The paper indicates some of the mice were 30 weeks old at the time of publication, implying they would have been bred in August, 2019. Fauci is somewhat puzzled because there hadn’t been a SARS case in 16 years, and in any case hACE2 mice already exist.
In fact, the “Chinese group” were the AMMS, including Yusen Zhou - who at the time of publication was already deceased (reportedly after falling off a building).
Why re-invent the haCE2 mouse? Some of Zhou’s research was straying into areas that have dual-use applications in ethnically targeted bioweapons. Not overtly of course, he was ostensibly investigating vaccines and therapeutics better suited to Han Chinese. Transgenic mice with Chinese immune characteristics could be used to adapt a virus to Chinese or non-Chinese people and/or to target vaccines in a similar way.
Returning to the CIA briefing, the mention of transgenic mice being used in experiments with pangolin coronaviruses should have had alarm bells ringing. Why would they want to adapt novel zoonotic coronaviruses towards humans?
Though the pangolin viruses have been largely forgotten (due to the fraudulent Banal sequences superseding them) they are precursors to SARS-CoV-2’s spike gene - one is closely related to the NTD, and one is almost identical to the RBD. They are linked to Zhou Yusen’s past collaborator Tong Yigang, who happened to be leading a project classified Secret at the time he “discovered” them.
Perhaps this might explain why Zhou took a fall.
Let’s hope that Rand Paul’s grilling of Fauci extends beyond ritual humiliation and uncovers more valuable origins information.
